Hi all, with the more administrative things out of the way, I'd like to draw your attention to the latest blog post at: https://interpeer.org/blog/2025/03/on-de-centralized-communications-part-4/ I'd just like to remind everyone that this is not a *news* mailing list, it's a discussion list. You can reply at any time by, well, replying with your email client, or using the archive web interface. That last blog post may be a bit abstract, but since there are quite a few people already looking at centralization and de-centralization in networks of people and institutions, I think it's worth exploring how those interact with computer networks. I also happen to think that the layering abstraction is probably incomplete, as I outlined near the end. I strongly suspect that the linear progression from physics at the bottom of the ISO stack to governments at the top of the expanded stack via various software layers is too simple, and a multi-dimensional categorization is going to be more meaningful. Since this is a distinctly non-technical question (though inspired by computer networking questions), perhaps this is a good topic to inspire some thoughts from list members. Any ideas on what might work? Jens
